Summary
Penn Medicine/LGHealth has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant to support Rohrerstown Urgent Care.
The MA/CMA will provide front office, administrative support (check in) and back office clinical support (patient care). This is a part time position, totaling 24 hours per week. Occasional rotation possible between Ephrata Urgent Care, located in Ephrata, Pa.
+ Two (2) twelve hours shifts between 9:00AM-9:00PM Monday through Friday
+ Every third weekend/holiday rotation required between 8:00AM-8:00PM

SUMMARY: Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant. The Certified Medical Assistant position is located at the Urgent Care facility in Ephrata and covers as needed at the Rohrerstown Urgent care. The CMA provides clinical support services to patients at the Urgent Care. Hours would be Part-time 0.6 working two 12 hour shifts 9:00am-9:00pm Monday-Friday and Every other weekend and holiday 8:00am-8:00pm.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Prepares patient for visit by using appropriate rooming standards tool.
Administers injections, as prescribed by provider and in accordance with practice protocol. Provides gross observations to the provider or licensed nurse for interpretation as necessary.
Prepares and assists providers with various procedures, minor surgeries and other exams as designated by the provider.
Performs Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine and strep tests.
Provides clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence in accordance with established triage protocols and relays information to the patient. Consults a provider or licensed nurse with questions or information that fall outside of the established protocols.
Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider.
Assures exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit. Maintains and cleans medical instruments and equipment after each procedure.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) is required.
+ Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required.
+ Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT or NAHTR) required within six (6) months of hire.
+ CPR Certification required.
This position requires PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
This position requires a Professional /Certification.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
