Armstrong World Industries, a leader in the design and manufacture of innovative commercial and residential ceiling, wall, and suspension system solutions, is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Procurement team for Spring semester, 2019.¬ This Co-Op is a paid, temporary, full time role.¬  If you are hungry for experience, have a demonstrated track record of academic excellence, outstanding leadership ability and a desire to join an organization with a history of market leadership and brand stability, then we want you to build your career with us!

Program Offerings



  • Development of procurement and leadership skills through formal training opportunities and informal learning from industry professionals

  • Interactions with entry level¬  associates

  • Exposure to Armstrong's operations through challenging assignments in key business areas

  • Typical assignments and projects may include:

    • Extensive work in Armstrong's SAP enterprise management system

    • Conduct analysis to aid in negotiation strategies

    • Utilize systems and data to resolve business issues in the most effective manner

    • Utilize systems to execute transactional procurement functions

    • Conduct discrete corporate capital competitive bids using Armstrong's bidding software

    • Requests quotations, sources and places purchase orders for assigned areas of responsibility

    • Supports the resolution of invoice discrepancies as they relate to incorrect price and quantity

    • Support the procurement analyst with spend analytics and reporting

Qualifications


The profile of our ideal candidate includes:



  • Completion of the third year of an undergraduate program in supply chain management, finance, accounting, business administration, logistics, or engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and build relationships

  • Leadership abilities demonstrated through involvement in student organizations and/or community service

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to manage multiple priorities

  • Relevant co-op or internship experience is desired

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
