Hair Maintenance/Dresser

Job Summary: Provide service to all customers of the Wardrobe Department by ensuring that hair and Wardrobe properties, are maintained at the highest level of quality and attention to creative direction and that costume changes are achieved properly and efficiently during the show performances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide service to all customers including Cast, Stage Management, Producers, Costumes and other team members to help ensure that all Wardrobe needs are met.
  • Execute pre-sets, quick changes and tracking of Wardrobe assets during show performances.
  • Keep the highest level of quality and accountability by maintaining all hair (including human hair, wigs, and facial hair) and assisting the Wardrobe Supervisor in implementing and maintaining programs of regular, preventive and rehab maintenance and care of hair.
  • Assist in preventive and rehab maintenance and care of wardrobe assets.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • High level of ability to style and maintain human hair, wigs and facial hair to creatively and efficiently meet design and show specifications and to maintain the look of the show.
  • Proven wardrobe ability to include a minimum of beginner level sewing skills.
  • Strong desire to work as a team to produce the highest quality product.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and rational under pressure and time demands in a fast-paced environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
